Abstract

The knowledge of health care workers about the use of antibiotics can prevent the treatment less effective, the increased risk to the safety of patients and the widespread resistance. The purpose of this study was to determine the knowledge level about antibiotics in health workers in PKU Muhammadiyah Delanggu hospitals . This study is observational (non-experimental) by using descriptive method. The tools used in this study was a questionnaire with the study subjects were health personnel includes personnel pharmacy (18 respondents) and nursing personnel (60 resspondents). Aspects of the determination of the knowledge level of antibiotics in labor pharmacy include side effects, timing, classification, contraindications, reconstitution, storage (place), storage (stability long time used), resistance, route of administration, storage (temperature), spectrum, storage (time expired) and dose. While the determination of the knowledge level about antibiotics in nursing personnel includes resistance, dose, time of administration, side effects, route of administration, the nursing process (nursing interventions), spectrum, storage (stability of the length of time used), storage (temperature), storage (time expired), reconstitution, the nursing process (nursing assessment) and classification. The results showed the knowledge level of pharmacy personnel with good category as (100%) and the knowledge level of nursing personnel with good category as (81.67%), a enough category as (18.33%).
