Abstract
Quality of life in patients of HIV/AIDS is very important to note because of infectious disease is chronic and progressive so vast impact on all aspects of life both physical, psychological, social, and spiritual. Psychosocial issues faced by patients HIV/AIDS impact on patient quality of life. Support from various parties one of which support families much-needed HIV/AIDS patients to maintain the quality of his life. This research aims to know the description of family support in HIV/AIDS patients at the hospital pulmonology dr Ario Wirawan Salatiga. This research is descriptive research. Sample family research is the HIV/AIDS patients undergoing Outpatient Pulmonary hospital dr Ario Wirawan Salatiga 65 respondents with the technique of total sampling. Data collection using the questionnaire were analyzed using univariate. Results of the study are (1) family support in the form of emotional support in patients of HIV/AIDS in both categories of 20.5%, emotional support categories quite 65.9% and emotional support category less of 13, 6%, (2) family support in the form of a support award in HIV/AIDS patients in both categories of 15.9%, emotional support categories quite 70.5%, and family support in the category less of 13.6%, (3) family support in the form of instrumental support on HIV/AIDS patients in both categories amounted to 15.9% the instrumental category support, enough of 72,9%, support the instrumental category less of 11.4%, (4) family support in the form of informative support in HIV/AIDS patients in both categories amounted to 18.2%, support informative category enough of 70.5%, support informative category less of 11.4%. Conclusion: an overview of family support in HIV/AIDS patients as a whole can be categorized.
