Abstract

Hermin Dwi Kurniati/ A510120047. ANALYSIS THE VALUE OF CHARACTER EDUCATION WHICH EXIST IN CIVIC EDUCATION BOOK PUBLISHED BY PUSAT PERBUKAN IN 2008. Essay. Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. Februari 2016. The aim of this study was to describe the characteristics of the presentation of the book and describe the educational values of the characters in the book class III Citizenship Published by Pusat Perbukuan in 2008. This study includes qualitative research deskripstif. The data in this study are statements that contain character education values contained in Book III Class Citizenship. Data was collected using reading techniques, techniques refer andtechniques noted. Data analysis method used in this research is the analysis of text and language by using the techniques of content analysis (content analysis). This study showed that component textbook Civic Education include: the title of the book, preface, table of contents, the title of the lesson, the details of the subtitle, the subtitle per KD, explanation (theoretical), summaries, daily tests, repeat the semester, examples, exercises, assignments, bibliography and glossary. Of the 18 values of character education launched by the Ministry of National Education, found 17 value of character education in textbooks Civics class III, namely: (1) religious, (2) honest, (3 ) tolerance, (4) discipline, (5) hard work, (6) creative, (7) independent, (8) democratic, (9) curiosity, (10) the national spirit, (11) patriotism, ( 12) recognize excellence, (13) friends / communicative, (14) love peace, (15) care for the environment, (16) social care, and (17) of responsibility. Thus it can be seen that there is an educational value character undiscovered value of character education like reading.
