Abstract
The human need for energy continues to increase from year to year. The situation is aggravated by the amount of the purchase of personal vehicles while petroleum resources from year to year decreases. If this situation persists it is certain that the next few years there will be fuel shortages in Indonesia and in the world. One solution to overcome the dependence on fossil fuels then established biodiesel from oil seed plants nyamplung and methanol with a capacity of 20,000 tons per year is planned to operate for 330 days per year. Using esterification-transesterification process flow stirred tank reactor (RATB). The reaction takes place in the liquid-liquid phase, reversible, exothermic, non-adiabatic, isothermal at the feed temperature of 60oC and a pressure of 1 atm. This plant is classified as low-risk plant operating conditions at atmospheric pressure
