Abstract

SOCIAL COGNITION OF THE PROSTITUTE TOWARD THE SEXUAL TRANSMITTED DISEASE One of the social phenomenon which is existed from the beginning of human creation is a prostitution, and until this day, that phenomena cannot be solved yet, even in quantitativel, its number was increase and spred wider from day by day in over the world. When someone deciding to be a prostitute, it is not her main reason to gain a money to living, but she do it form another main reason, because actually they don’t want to be a prostitute and they have to do that for several factors. The asumption that economic factor is the major factor which urge someone being involved in the prostitution area had been shifting since a new interesting phenomena has found in this activities, the glow of female teenagers or the so called a teenagers who became a prostitute. The complexity of someone’s reason to be a prostitute, means that more numbers of prostitute in this country. This could be a cause of the sexual infected disease spreading. The increase of the sexual infected disease patient must be stabilized with the medical action, becaue if an individu infected this sexual disease didn’t get inadequate treatment, could make a physical and spiritual flaw for the individual himself and his succesor. So it is needed the way of thinking to gain those knowledge or in another word it is needed a social cognition. This research is aimed to know how a social cognition of the prostitute toward sexual infected disease. This research was held in Solo city, that is in the prostitute boarding house in Palur, Nusukan and Banyuanyar. The research sample was taken by applying a purposive sampling method as much as four person. The data source is words collecting using an interview method and the observation method. Data nalisis which is used is a descriptive analysis, that is an explanation, and description. From the result of analysis gain a conclusion that there are an incorrect social cognition of the prostitute toward the sexual transmitted disease that is an over confidence of the prostitute that she cannot be infected by doing an intensive preventive action.
