Abstract
This research is conducted to describe the implementation of teaching vocabulary using pictures at SDN 1 Blorong, Karanganyar and its result. The subject is 25 students at the fifth year. To see the students improvement, the writer conducted pre-test and post-test. The data are narratives of teaching vocabulary using pictures. In collecting the data, the writer conducted observation, interview, and test. And the data sources are informants, event and scores of pre-test and post-test. She conducts six cyc les in the classroom; the first cycle is pre-test, the second until the fifth cycle are for delivering the material and the six cycle is post-test. After collecting data and analyzing the data, the writer presented the result of the research. The writer finds that there are three results in this research, namely (1) there are 21 students (84%) who increase their vocabulary achievement, (2) there is 1 student (4%) who decrease his vocabulary achievement, (3) there are 3 students (12%) who have static achievement in their vocabulary achievement. The students fell enjoyable, active, and creative in studying English. The students are also easier to memorize every word that had been uttered by the teacher. From the explanation, it can be said that the teaching vocabulary using pictures as the technique at SDN 1 Blorong is good and effective.
