Abstract

The purposes of this research are to explain the form of request in action movie ‘SPIDERMAN 1” and to get a description dealing with the purpose of request in action movie “SPIDERMAN 1”. The data are utterance including request in action movie “SPIDERMAN 1”. In collecting the data, the writer uses documentation method. The steps for getting the data are watching the movie, putting sign and making check list of the requesting in the movie and noting the data of requesting in the movie. The collected data are analyzed by using Peccei’s form of request theory and Tsui’s classification of request theory. Having analyzed this film, the writer draws some conclusions as follows. First, the form of request sentence in action movie “Spiderman 1” consist of two types of sentence namely: interrogative sentence and imperative sentence. Secondly, there are four types of request expression employed in the film namely: request for action, request for offer, request for permission, and request for proposal.
