Abstract
The major problem of this study is how struggle in Gracie Hart is reflected in Miss Congeniality movie based on liberal feminist approach. This study is to analyze structural elements of Miss Congeniality movie and Hart’s struggle to exterminate criminal acts based on liberal feminist point of view. This research paper is qualitative research. The object of the study is Miss Congeniality movie directed by Donald Petrie publish in 2005 by Warner Bross Pictures. The primary data source is the Miss Congeniality movie it self and the secondary data sources are any material related to the study, such as any books of literature, website and other related source. The method of data collection is documentation research. The technique of data analysis is descriptive analysis. The result of the study shows the relationship between the movie and the social phenomena in America at twenty first century. In Miss Congeniality movie, Donald Petrie describes women’s struggle in the early of twenty first century as a way to describe women condition in America enjoy male jobs opportunities. The movie also views that women have capability to exterminate criminal acts. Therefore, women should have bravely and skill in her live. Furthermore, Donald Petrie wants to say that women must have struggled to exterminate criminal acts and discrimination condition in the issues of women’s position, role, rights, and participation.
