Abstract

Car rental is a type of business that operates in the service and car rental sector. The purpose of car rental services is to assist the community with their various individual needs, which is why many car rental businesses have emerged. Competition in the car rental industry has become increasingly fierce. However, there are still few car rental owners who utilize information technology. Many still rely on promotional media such as banners or posters placed at their business premises. An example is the Samboga car rental in Blora, which still uses a book to record customer transactions and daily reports. Manual management often leads to mistakes (human error), resulting in the loss or damage of data. The goal of this research is to develop a web-based information system to help business owners manage their car rental businesses more efficiently. As a result, customer reservations and transactions can be done online. The programming languages used to build this web-based information system are PHP and MySQL, with the CodeIgniter framework. This research aims to improve the efficiency of both car rental owners and customers in the car rental process. The system was tested using the Black Box method and the System Usability Scale (SUS), yielding satisfactory results. The implementation of this web-based car rental information system is expected to assist administrators in efficiently managing data, transactions, and reports, while also enabling customers to easily make online car reservations. The SUS questionnaire results showed an average score of 78, categorized as "Acceptable," indicating the system is user-satisfying and ready for use.
