Abstract

One of the innovations that has increased significantly is the Internet of Things (IoT) which has driven its application in various sectors, one of which is the agricultural sector. This innovation can be in the form of automation and efficiency needed in automatic watering or monitoring of soil moisture conditions. One of the challenges in plant care is not watering plants regularly, especially because of the busyness of modern society. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method. The results of the study show that the automatic watering system and soil moisture monitoring based on ESP8266, node.js, and android can work well. Starting from being able to turn the water pump on and off manually and automatically, being able to monitor sensors in real-time, and being able to see the history of sensors and pump actions. Fuzzy logic can run well according to the rules set. Based on black box testing, the application has run as expected. Then in the usability testing, it got a score of 72.6 with the predicate "Good" which means that respondents agreed that this watering system can help work and overcome human problems.
