Abstract
Tegal Regency is located in the northern part of Central Java and is crossed by the north coast road (Jalan Pantura), making it a very strategic location for industry and settlements. The existence of this supportive location accelerates the process of housing and industrial development, but often results in the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural land. In addition, population growth increases the need for housing, resulting in a decrease in the area of agricultural land or green areas as a whole. This study aims to analyze the distribution pattern of changes in agricultural land to non-agricultural land in Tegal Regency in 2012-2023, and to analyze the factors that influence these changes in the same period. The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method with a survey approach. The results of the study show that there was a conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural land in Tegal Regency covering an area of 3,353.95 hectares. The distribution pattern of changes in agricultural land to non-agricultural land in Tegal Regency during 2012-2023 showed a clustered pattern. The factors influencing the change of agricultural land to non-agricultural land during 2012-2023 in Tegal Regency are the population and number of industries, which have a significant influence on the area of agricultural land, while the agricultural productivity variable does not show a significant influence on the area of agricultural land.
