Abstract

The Industrial Engineering Laboratory at the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) has three main focus areas: the business and computation laboratory, the work system design and ergonomics laboratory, and the production system laboratory. Each year, the industrial engineering laboratory undergoes a process of regenerating new laboratory assistants for computer programming, statistics, and industrial engineering design practicums. The selection process for new assistants is currently done manually, so an web-based information system is needed to make the process more efficient and structured. The design of this web-based information system uses the waterfall method, with the support of the Django framework and SQLite database. The design process begins by identifying user requirements, then creating diagrams such as use case, data flow, and entity relationship diagrams. The next step is to create a preliminary website interface design, followed by implementation of the web-based information system according to the specified requirements. After development, testing is conducted to check for bugs, which are then fixed, and the system is regularly maintained. The resulting website includes pages for the home page, login, registration, dashboard, information, requirements, registration, and a list of assistants.
