Abstract
The incidence of stunting is influenced by the role of the hormone Insulin Like Growth Factor (IGF-I) which supports the process of height growth. Protein and zinc can play a role in restoring the concentration of Insulin Like Growth Factor (IGF-I). This study aims to determine the relationship between protein and zinc intake and the incidence of stunting in toddlers in the working area of the Sawit Community Health Center, Sawit District, Boyolali Regency. This research uses an observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample in this study was obtained using a proportional random sampling technique of 82 toddlers. Data collection was carried out using the TB/U index with Z-Score and Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ). Data analysis was carried out with the Chi Square Test using SPSS. The results of the research showed that there were 73.9% of stunted toddlers with insufficient protein intake and 91.7% of non-stunting toddlers with adequate protein intake, whereas there were 71.4% of stunted toddlers with insufficient zinc intake and 68.5% of non-stunting toddlers with insufficient zinc intake. enough zinc. These results show that there is a significant relationship between protein and zinc intake and the incidence of stunting in toddlers in the working area of the Sawit Community Health Center, Sawit District, Boyolali Regency (p value = 0.000; RR = 8.870) and (p value = 0.001; RR = 2.275).
