Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer of water hyacinth (Eichonia crassipes) and sugarcane bagasse on the growth and yield of tomato seedlings (Solanum lycopersicum) in various concentrations. Furthermore, to determine the most optimal concentration of liquid organic fertilizer of water hyacinth (Eichonia crassipes) and sugarcane bagasse on the growth and yield of tomato seedlings (Solanum lycopersicum). This study used a qualitative descriptive research type using an experimental method and a basic pattern of a Perfectly Randomized Group Design (RKTS) with 2 factors. The results showed that fertilizer from water hyacinth and sugarcane bagasse significantly affected the growth of the number of leaves, stem height, number of fruits, and fruit weight. The treatment of liquid organic fertilizer of water hyacinth and sugarcane bagasse with a concentration of 40 ml/kg soil, 80 ml/kg soil, and 120 ml/kg soil was more effective than the control treatment. Then the treatment with a concentration of 120 ml/kg soil liquid organic fertilizer from water hyacinth with 80 ml/kg soil liquid organic fertilizer from sugarcane bagasse waste (E3A2) was the most effective treatment used. Furthermore, the experiment without liquid organic fertilizer from water hyacinth and without liquid organic fertilizer from sugarcane bagasse waste (control treatment) obtained the lowest average number of leaves, stem height, number of fruits, and fruit weight.
