Abstract
A truck is a vehicle used to transport goods from one place to another. The cargo being transported is often very heavy so it requires a large engine power and the body must be strong. In the braking system, we know that there are two components that rub against each other, namely the brake drum and the brake canvas or brake pad. This brake drum is a component that plays an important role in the braking system, where this component has a bowl-like shape which functions as a friction medium. The main function of this component is to mediate the rotation of the wheel. The brake canvas is a component whose function is to stop or slow down the rotation of the brake drum. Implementation is carried out by visually inspecting the brake drum and continuing with disassembly to determine the braking system on the truck canter engine. Based on observations after the disassembly process, namely by measuring the dimensions using a caliper on the drum brake, designing the drum brake components using solid work applications and calculating the drum brake surface force, knowing the front shoe brake force, knowing the rear shoe brake force, knowing the brake pedal force and calculate the hydraulic pressure generated by the truck master cylinder.
