Abstract
Students with poor time management will have a negative impact on their lifestyle, especially on sleep quality. This will have a negative impact on the body, both psychologically and physically. Lack of sleep can cause the ability to concentrate and think to decrease. Sleep quality is influenced by stress levels and emotional stability. This study aims to examine the relationship between stress levels and emotional stability on sleep quality in students. The research method used is quantitative correlational using data collection methods on sleep quality scales, stress level scales and emotional stability scales. The major hypothesis of this research is that there is a relationship between stress levels and emotional stability on sleep quality, while the minor hypothesis is that there is a negative relationship between stress levels and sleep quality, and there is a positive relationship between emotional stability and sleep quality. The population taken were active students of the UMS Faculty of Psychology. The sampling technique for this research is purposive sampling, with a sample of 100 active students from the Faculty of Psychology. This research data analysis uses multiple regression methods. The research results show a large F value (6.991) and a significance value (0.001 < 0.05) indicating that there is a significant relationship between the Stress Level and Emotional Stability variables on the Sleep Quality variable. The high R-square value (0.126) shows that 12.6% of Sleep Quality can be explained by variations in Stress Levels and Emotional Stability. The correlation value: -2.286 with significance: 0.024 (sig < 0.05) on the variable Stress Level and Sleep Quality. Correlation value: 2.279 with significance: 0.025 (sig < 0.05) shown in the relationship between emotional stability and sleep quality. The conclusions in this study show that the Stress Level variable has a significant negative relationship with Sleep quality and the Emotional Stability variable has a significant positive relationship with Sleep quality. This means that the higher the stress level, the lower the sleep quality and the higher the Emotional Stability, the better the sleep quality.
