Abstract

This research discusses sexual violence committed by adults against children via social media, referred to as child grooming. Child grooming is an extension of the crime of sexual harassment, as it can be executed either directly or indirectly. However, many people, especially parents, are not aware of the crime of child grooming. Therefore, this research aims to: (1) ascertain the perspective of Islamic law on the crime of child grooming; (2) understand the regulations regarding the criminal act of child grooming within Indonesian positive law; and (3) examine the legal protection efforts for victims of child grooming by the KAKAK Surakarta Foundation. The research method employed is empirical juridical. The findings indicate that: (1) according to Islamic law, the punishment for the crime of child grooming is equivalent to that for sexual violence; (2) the government has made efforts to regulate child grooming through various policies; and (3) legal protection for victims of child grooming at the KAKAK Surakarta Foundation is provided in the form of assistance.
