Abstract
This study has objectives : (1) To find out the forms of negative face threatening speech in the discourse of the Indonesian Lawyer Club (ILC). (2) Knowing the politeness strategy in the discourse (ILC) of the Indonesia Lawyer Club. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. This research was conducted starting in July 2016. The object of this research is the utterances in the Indonesia Lawyer Club event which were collected through the note-taking recording technique and analyzed using referential equivalent and pragmatic equivalent methods. The following are the results of this study: First, negative face-threatening acts in the form of orders and requests contained 12 data, 2) negative face-threatening acts in the form of suggestions and advice contained 12 data, 3) negative acts of threatening disgust in the form of warnings contained 33 data, 4) face-threatening acts There are 17 data for negative face threats, warnings and challenges, 5) negative face threatening acts in the form of offers there are 2 data, 6) negative face threatening acts in the form of promises there are 3 data, 7) negative face threatening acts in the form of praise there are 7 data, and 8) There are 13 data of negative face-threatening acts in the form of anger and hatred. Second, the use of politeness strategies in the Indonesia Lawyer Club event. 1) Bald-on record strategy has 59 data, 2) Positive Politeness There are 20 positive politeness strategies or strategies, which are divided as follows: a) focusing on the interlocutor there is 1 data., b) giving more attention, sympathy and giving recognition to the interlocutor, there are 3 data., c) markers of group intimacy there are 3 data., d) avoiding conflict there are 7 data., e) finding agreement there is 1 data., f) equating the assumption with public opinion there is 1 data. , g) joking there is 1 group., h) agreeing to the opinion of the interlocutor there is 1 data., and i) being optimistic there are 2 data. 3) Negative politeness strategy or negative politeness strategy contains 19 data which are divided as follows: a) asking questions or evading, there are 8 data, b) pessimistic, there are 7 data, c) reducing the burden of requests there are 1 data, and d) threatening actions advance as a generally accepted rule there are 2 data. 4) Off record strategy or indirect or disguised strategy, there are 2 data.
