Abstract

Some BEM Faculty organizations at UMS still show performance that is not optimal. The aim of this research is to examine the influence of leadership and work motivation on organizational performance. The method used in this research is quantitative with a multiple linear correlational approach. The population in this study was the BEM Faculty organization at Muhammadiyah University, Surakarta using a sampling technique purposive random sampling. The sample used in this research was 88 administrator from the BEM Faculty organization. The data analysis technique used in the research is multiple linear regression. The results obtained are that there is a significant influence of leadership and work motivation on organizational performance with an F value of 56.092 > F Table 3.10 and sig 0.000 < 0.05. The first minor hypothesis is that there is a positive and significant influence of leadership on organizational performance as evidenced by the calculated T value of 4.337 > T table 1.988 and sig 0.000 < 0.05. The second minor hypothesis is that there is a positive and significant influence of work motivation on organizational performance with a calculated T value of 5.223 > T table 1.988 and sig 0.000 < 0.05. The results of the contribution of leadership effectiveness and work motivation to organizational performance obtained a value of 56.8% with each leadership variable amounting to 21.12% and work motivation amounting to 31.71%. The categorization of organizational performance is RH 47.5 and RE 64.07 with a percentage of 85.2%. Leadership categorization RH 40 and RE 55.80 with a percentage of 90.9%. The categorization of work motivation is RH 45 and RE 65.95 with a percentage of 97.7%. Keywords: leadership, organizational performance, work motivation
