Abstract

Grobogan Regency, as the second largest regency in Central Java Province, faces challenges in dealing with poverty and declining education quality, especially in Gabus District. Despite having great agricultural potential, Grobogan Regency still faces obstacles in managing agricultural products and inadequate educational facilities. Education is considered a key indicator of a nation's progress and is important in producing quality human resources. (Nurfiati et al. in Santika et al., 2023). Therefore, the design of an Agricultural Vocational School (SMK) in Grobogan Regency, with a focus on modern agricultural technology and a tropical architectural approach, is expected to improve the quality of human resources in the agricultural sector. This SMK Pertanian is designed to provide adequate learning facilities and integrate the latest agricultural technology. The design approach utilizes tropical architectural principles by considering the local climate and user comfort. The principles applied in this tropical architectural approach are thermal comfort, air circulation, natural lighting, and protection from heat and rain. The design of the Millennial Agricultural Vocational School with a Tropical Architectural Concept Approach located in Gabus District, Grobogan Regency is reviewed from the analysis and response to the site and applicable regulations.
