Abstract

This research aims to determine the layout of the turbine blades at the Wind Power Plant (PLTB) for more optimal performance. The study uses a PLTB test tool to simulate the turbine layout: vertical and horizontal on the turbine arm. Through laboratory experiments, variables such as wind speed and distance between turbines are analyzed to determine the optimal configuration. The research results show that the optimized turbine layout significantly increases the efficiency of wind energy conversion into electricity compared to the conventional layout. These findings are expected to make a significant contribution to the development of more efficient and environmentally friendly PLTB. From the results of the tests that have been carried out there are 3 conditions, first condition 1 with the turbine at an arm length of 35cm, condition 2 with the turbine at an arm length of 35cm and 26cm, and finally condition 3 with the turbine rotating horizontally with the turbine positioned at an arm length of 35cm. It can be concluded that the greatest wind potential in condition 1 is on day 1, July 13 2024, with a wind speed of 1.58m/s at 15.30 WIB with a generator voltage of 6.5V, current of 0.064A and power of 0.416W. Condition 2 with the greatest wind potential was obtained on day 3, July 20 2024, with a wind speed of 1.60m/s at 16.00 WIB with a generator voltage of 6.9V, current of 0.064A and power of 0.416W. Condition 3 with the greatest wind potential was obtained on the 2nd day of July 18 2024 with a wind speed of 2.09m/s at 14.00 WIB with a generator voltage of 10.5V, current of 0.104A and power of 1.092W.
