Abstract
Tidal flooding in Semarang City is caused by a combination of rising sea levels and land subsidence, so residents must be able to adapt to tidal flooding. The need for land use to meet living needs increases as a result of population growth, thereby increasing demand for land use. Problems with land availability are often caused by increasing demand for land use, both in urban and coastal areas. This research aims to analyze the tidal flood phenomenon in the coastal area of Semarang City and analyze the relationship between the tidal flood phenomenon and changes in land use in the coastal area of Semarang City. The analysis method used is spatial analysis through GIS through visual interpretation, digitization and overlay. The accuracy test was carried out using a confusion matrix resulting in an overall accuracy value of 90.9% and a kappa coefficient value of 87.7%. The results of this study indicate that the tidal flood phenomenon in the coastal area of Semarang City occurred due to rising sea levels, lowering of land levels and loss of experience. The tidal flood phenomenon that occurs every year results in economic losses. So, more and more people are leaving coastal areas. The relationship between tidal floods and changes in land use is parallel, meaning that the more frequently an area is affected by tidal floods, the more land use changes will continue to occur in the related area. Thus, the tidal flood phenomenon will increasingly have a significant negative impact on communities, buildings and residential infrastructure in coastal areas.
