Abstract

The development of the Ngiangon Reservoir tourist area in Grobogan as a waterfront area with an ecotourism approach is a strategic issue in optimizing natural and cultural potential and protecting the tourism environment. This research aims to identify potential, identify challenges, and develop a proposed sustainable tourism area management strategy. This study includes analysis of potential natural and cultural attractions, collection of nvironmental and social challenges, and development of management strategies that combine aspects of ecotourism and suicide. Research methods include literature studies, field surveys, interviews with stakeholders, and qualitative data analysis. The research results show that Ngiangon Reservoir has great potential as an ecotourism destination, with natural beauty, diversity of flora and fauna, and significant cultural heritage. However, challenges such as environmental degradation, land use conflicts and community involvement need to be addressed effectively. The proposed sustainable management strategy includes the development of ecotourism routes, a participatory approach involving local communities, and the implementation of environmental education programs. By combining these aspects, the management of the Ngiangon Reservoir tourist area is expected to provide economic benefits, preserve the environment, and increase awareness for visitors and local communities. This research contributes to understanding the concept of sustainable tourism development, especially in the context of ecotourism in reservoir areas. Policy implications and directions for sustainable development are also discussed in this research.
