Abstract

Indonesian agriculture holds significant potential but is hindered by educational issues and the aging farmer population, threatening the sector's sustainability. Agritourism emerges as a solution to enhance public understanding and attract younger generations. Melons, a high-value commodity, face production challenges that can be mitigated through the use of greenhouses to boost productivity and quality. The Farmhill has developed the Farmhill Land program as an ecologically-based agritourism initiative to introduce modern agriculture and provide education through training. The design of Agrowisata Greenhouse Melon The Farmhill in Colomadu, Karanganyar, involves a 5-hectare site analysis, addressing noise issues, and optimizing natural lighting and ventilation. The area offers various facilities including an information center, educational spaces, homestays, a restaurant, and a multipurpose hall. The environmentally-friendly design uses materials such as wood and reinforced concrete, along with efficient water and energy management systems. Additional features include educational trails, melon-picking activities, and support services like ATMs. The educational concept integrates greenhouses, workshops, seminars, and exhibitions to enhance knowledge about agriculture and sustainability, while supporting facilities ensure comfort and accessibility for all visitors.
