Abstract

The city of Surakarta has experienced significant population growth in recent years. This has led to increased mobility and the need for better transport to avoid congestion caused by the use of private vehicles. The Solo Balapan station area is one of the transit centres of the Surakarta community that needs to be considered and utilised in the best possible way to meet these needs. As a city that continues to grow as a service centre for the surrounding area makes Surakarta a centre of economic attraction for residents and as an effort to optimise this can be done by utilising the proximity between several centres of activity (potential) around the Solo Balapan station area using a connect/pendestrian path that can only be reached by foot/bike, one of which is the Sky Bridge facility. Efforts to solve the problem, therefore, it is necessary to solve the problem by planning and designing a transit area that carries the concept of Transit Oriented Development (TOD) by developing the potential of the area through a sustainable approach so that it can be sustainable and resilient. In order to achieve this goal, it is necessary to study the location of the site both physically and non-physically as a basis for planning and designing the Sustainable Sky Bridge.
