Abstract

In Indonesia, the market plays an important role in the process of moving the community's economy. Traditional markets are one of the cultural assets and drivers of the national economy that have proven to be resistant to the economic crisis. Juwangi Market is the only public market in Juwangi Subdistrict as well as a market that is directly integrated with a type C terminal and is strategically located because it is passed by a collector road that connects 2 districts, namely Grobogan and Boyolali. However, the condition of the market that is integrated with the terminal is not comfortable as seen from the unorganized spaces connected between the market and the terminal such as the bus circulation space and the market parking area that become one, the narrow circulation in the market area, the unorganized zoning of traders and the lack of maintenance of some existing facilities. So from some of these problems, this planning and design aims to redesign the Juwangi Market and Terminal in accordance with applicable standards using a behavioral architecture approach. This research and design uses field observation methods, literature studies, comparative studies, and analysis of existing problems which are then compiled into a design concept. To overcome the various problems that exist, the concept of market and terminal redesign is made based on SNI 8152: 2021, Regulation of the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia number PM 40 of 2015 and the emphasis on behavioral architecture which is a consideration for design processing such as space elements, dimensions, color, temperature, furniture layout, lighting and sound. So that with the design and planning of the Juwangi Market and Terminal redesign, it is hoped that it can create an optimal market and terminal and can help improve the economy of the surrounding community and the village economy.
