Abstract

In a manufacturing industry, regular maintenance and inspections of machines are necessary to maintain their effectiveness and productivity. The aim of this research is to calculate the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and compare it with international standards to evaluate the machine's performance and achieve expected standards and efficiency. It aims to identify issues that could lead to losses so that preventive measures can be taken, and improvement steps can be planned. Additionally, it aims to propose improvements to enhance product quality and competitiveness of the company. The object of this study is the Injection Moulding machine Shibaura T-300 owned by PT. Stechoq Robotika Indonesia. The method used includes OEE calculation to assess machine effectiveness by determining availability ratio, performance efficiency ratio, and quality ratio, comparing them with international OEE standards. Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) is employed to identify factors influencing machine efficiency. The research reveals that the machine is below standard, with the main causes being issues with the hopper causing insufficiently dried materials and problems with the heating unit. Proposed improvements include scheduling regular maintenance, training operators to understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain detailed production records, increasing the number of operators, and creating a safe and comfortable working environment.
