Abstract

In the rapidly evolving era of digital information, academic websites like "My Skripsi" have become essential tools for students to present their theses. However, these websites often fail to meet user expectations in terms of user interface (UI) appearance and interaction. This study aims to address this issue by redesigning the UI using the Design Thinking method. This method is chosen because of its approach that focuses on a deep understanding of user needs, empathy, and an iterative process in designing innovative solutions. This study identifies the main problems on the "My Skripsi" website, such as an unintuitive and unattractive appearance. Through the Design Thinking stages which include Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test, this study strives to improve user effectiveness and satisfaction. The results show that UI redesign can provide a better user experience, easier navigation, and a more attractive visual appearance. Thus, the "My Skripsi" website shows that it can meet user needs more optimally and support the academic process more effectively.
