Abstract

The prarticipants of women in the workforce today not only demands equal rights but also reveals their significants function that can be crucial for the development of the workforce in Indonesia. The dual role involves simultaneously fulfilling important roles such as being a professional worker and performing domestik duties as a homemaker. Dual role conflict occurs when two or more roles are divided simultaneously, leading to difficulties in fulfilling each role. Dual role conflict has two components: family matters interfering with work and work matters interfering with family. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between fear of success and work stress with work-family conflict. The subjects of this study were 99 career women with children working at Bank M in Surabaya. Data collection was done using questionnaires. The technique used to select respondents was a population study, work stress, and work family conflict. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed a significant relationship between fear of success and work stress with work-family conflict in career women, with a coefficient R value of 0,544 and p value of 0,000. There is a positive relationship between fear of success and work-family conflict in career women, with an r value of 0,482 and p value of 0,000, and positive relationship between work stress and work-family conflict in career women, with a value of 0,436 and p value 0,000. It can be concluded tat there is a very significant relationship between work stress and work-family conflict. Keyword : fear of success, work stress, work-family conflict, career women
