Abstract
Environmental crises often occur in Indonesia, one of which is air pollution. Crises can occur anytime and anywhere that can threaten the reputation of the organization. The air pollution crisis in DKI Jakarta must be considered by the government because it concerns the fate of the Indonesian people. A good image can be seen from the organization's stakeholders. Crisis communication is a way for organizations to repair and build the reputation of organizations that have been damaged by the crisis. This research seeks to see the crisis communication response carried out by the government to respond to the crisis in the online media kompas and kumparan. This research uses situational crisis communication theory (SCCT) which aims to find out what response strategies organizations use when a crisis occurs. This research uses a quantitative content analysis approach with content validity test and Holsti formula as a measurement of inter-coder reliability. Researchers found 47 news articles related to DKI Jakarta air pollution in June - September 2023. The results of the study found that the justification category is often done by the government in responding to crisis situations in both online media.
