Abstract

One of the factors that influences noise in the workplace is that it comes from production machines. Noise can affect workers' stress, among other things. This research aims to describe and analyze the relationship between noise and work stress incidents in the Spinning V and Weaving V departments. This type of research is observational analytic with a cross sectional approach. The total sample was 158 respondents. Respondent calculations were carried out using a proportional sampling technique carried out in two different departments with different numbers of respondents. Work stress data was collected using a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability and noise measurement using a Sound Level Meter (SLM). Data analysis used used the Chi-square test. The results showed that the noise in the Spinning V area was 81.7 dB and Weaving V 85.4 dB. Work stress is dominated by the moderate stress category. There is a relationship between noise intensity and the incidence of work stress with a p-value of Due to the relationship between noise intensity and work stress, it is hoped that companies will continue to monitor the SOP for the use of PPE to reduce the noise intensity received by workers.
