Abstract
Discipline is one of the determinants of the course of education both in terms of process and achievement. The aim of this study was to test whether there was a link between parental involvement and self-control with learning discipline in early adolescence. Research uses quantitative methods with data collection techniques using the likert scale, namely the parental involvement scale, the self-control scale, and the learning discipline scale. The sample in this study was 110 students of Al Islam Kartasura Junior High School using a sampling technique, namely quota sampling. The data analysis used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study show that there is a relationship between parental involvement and self-control with learning discipline (p = 0.000 < 0.05). There is a significant positive relationship of parental involvement with learning discipline (p = 0.000 < 0.05 and r = 0.358). There is a significant positive relationship of self-control with learning discipline (p = 0.012 < 0.05 and r = 0.259). The effective contribution was 17.8% with a parent engagement variable breakdown of 11.9% and a self-control variable of only 5.9% with the remaining 82.2% influenced by other factors.
