Abstract

This research aims to explain how the zakat maal management system is in BAZNAS Karanganyar Regency and to find out how to optimize zakat maal in BAZNAS Karanganyar Regency. This research is a type of qualitative research. The method used in this research is an artistic method, because the research process is less patterned and is also called an interpretive method because the research data is more about interpretation of data in the field. At BAZNAS Karanganyar Regency, the processing system is carried out in accordance with Law number 23 of 2011 concerning the zakat management system, such as the Planning, Implementation and cooperation system with UPZ and PPZ. BAZNAS Karanganyar Regency faces obstacles such as lack of public awareness, lack of role and socialization as well as lack of branding with zakat institutions from religious organizations that have managed zakat themselves. Efforts to optimize zakat maal for the welfare of the people in Karanganyar Regency are by raising zakat funds through outreach with ASN and for the general public there are programs such as talk shows and exposing activities as well as programs from BAZNAS so that people participate by paying zakat at BAZNAS.
