Abstract
The machining process can be said to be precise and correct if there is continuity between the design, machining parameters, and materials, with the aim that the workpiece or product produced has a quality that is in accordance with the standard both in terms of surface roughness, accuracy, and precision. This study aims to investigate the level of product accuracy and product surface roughness after the machining process using a 3 Axis CNC Router machine from variations in the difference in depth of cut of the finishing process of Aluminium 5052 material. The product accuracy testing process was carried out using the Hexagon Portable Arm 6 Axis Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and surface roughness test using the Mitutoyo Surftest SJ – 210 Surface Roughness Tester. The test results of the product accuracy level show that the variation of the depth of the finishing process of 0,1 mm produces the lowest average roughness value of Ra 0,697 µm, Rq 0,854 µm, and Rz 4,200 µm when compared to the variation of the depth finishing process of 0,2 mm and 0,3 mm.
