Abstract

This research aims to analyze education policy in Karanganyar Regency. This research is policy research with a goal-oriented evaluative approach. The evaluation model used for this research uses the goals-oriented evaluation model developed by Tyler to evaluate the objectives of the five-day school program implemented in Karanganyar Regency. Data collection was carried out through interviews, questionnaires, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique uses descriptive analysis. The research subjects were school principals, teachers, parents and students in Karanganyar Regency, totaling 310 people. The research results show: (1) Not all schools have implemented the five days school policy in accordance with applicable regulations; (2) The interaction between parents and children in Karanganyar Regency shows a very weak positive relationship. The value of parents' acceptance of their children is higher than the value of conflict resolution offered by parents to their children; (3) The overall goal of efforts to increase management capacity in educational units, including curriculum management, educators and education staff, student affairs, infrastructure and community relations, has not been achieved. This research has benefits, including: (1) for the Department of Education, the results of this research can be used as material for consideration in determining the next education policy in Karanganyar Regency, (2) for schools, the results of this research can be used as material for consideration in determining efforts to increase management capacity and quality. schools, (3) for parents/guardians, the results of this research can be used as material for consideration in determining positive communication and interaction patterns with children to support the child's educational process, and (4) for researchers, the results of this research can be a reference in terms of education policy and its implications.
