Abstract

The performance of teaching staff can be affected by the heavy demands of the tasks given, such as those who teach at Junior High Schools (SMP), for example, causing teachers to experience boredom, boredom and also resulting in work stress and fatigue. Educators will tend to experience stress if they are less able to adapt their desires to the existing reality, both the reality within and the reality outside themselves. This research aims to analyze the relationship between work stress and work fatigue on the performance of teaching staff at State Middle Schools in Klaten Regency. This research uses a quantitative approach with a cross sectional method. The independent variables in the research are work stress and work fatigue, while the dependent variable is the performance of teaching staff. The sample in this study was 157 teaching staff with a sampling technique, namely purposive sampling, with a ratio of the number of teaching staff and the number of students. The instrument in this research uses a questionnaire for the independent variable and uses e-performance data for the dependent variable. Data analysis used the Chi-square test. The results of the research show that there is a relationship between work stress and the performance of teaching staff (p=0.000) and there is a relationship between work fatigue and the performance of teaching staff (p=0.000). The lower the level of work stress and the lower the level of work fatigue, the more likely it is to improve the performance of teaching staff to be very good. Therefore, superiors should provide workload according to the capacity of teaching staff, so that teaching staff will work optimally.
