Abstract
Of the many types of social media, Instagram is the media that is most often chosen as a means of doing business and promotion in various forms of products. This is because Instagram has complete features in visual and verbal forms. The purpose of this research is to find out about how the role of Instagram Solo Safari in attracting travel interest for Communication Science students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta to visit. This research also uses SMCRE theory to describe the message of the content created by the @solosafari.id Instagram account. The data collected by researchers using qualitative methods by combining the results of observations on the @solosafari.id Instagram account and conducting interviews with the Solo Safari social media team and communication science students at Muhammadiyah Surakarta University who have visited the Solo Safari animal park.
