Abstract

The study aims to identify and analyze the characteristics of palm coconut farmers in Sukamakmur village of Giri Mulya district of Bengkulu North. The study was conducted with respondents of 50 palm coconut farmers who had produced (plant age over 3 years) this number of respondents was determined using the Slovene formula. The primary data is obtained by direct interview with respondents with the guiding questionnaire that has been prepared. Primary data includes the age of the respondents, the number of households, the characteristics of use (land area and plant life), household income of coconut farmers and household output of cocoa farmers which includes food expenditure, education, health, electricity and water. While secondary data are derived from articles, scientific journals, books, research essays, Central Statistics Agency, Village Office. Secondary data covers geography and topography, general state of the area. (Ordinary Least Squares). The results of the research showed that the characteristics of the palm coconut farmers in Sukamakmur village of Giri Mulya district of Bengkulu North mean average life of palm head plants 5 years are categorized as the age of productive plants, the average number of farmers' families 3 persons and the average age of the farmers 47 years.
