Abstract
Background : Activity of Daily Living (ADL), also known as day-to-day activity, refers to the essential abilities required for independent self-care. Independence refers to the ability to act freely, without relying on or being affected by others, and to govern one's own actions both individually and within a collective. Decrease ADL independence in the elderly can cause anxiety. Objective : The objective of this study research is to ensure the correlation between the Activity of Daily Living (ADL) levels with anxiety among the senior population in Panti Lanjut Usia Aisyiyah Banjarsari, Surakarta. Method : This study employs a quantitative type of research method with a descriptive correlation design, using a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 30 individuals and was selected using a total sampling approach. The instrument used in this research are the Barthel Index and the Geriatric Anxiety Inventory. Performing data analysis with Spearman's correlation test. Result : The Spearman test yielded a statistically significant result (sig.=0.001 < 0.05), indicating a strong correlation (r=0.637). Conclution : The research findings indicate a significant link between Activity Daily Of Living (ADL) levels with Anxiety among the elderly in the advanced age care facility, Panti Lanjut Usia Aisyiyah, Banjarsari, Surakarta.
