Abstract
Economic growth is a measure of the good and bad of a country's economy, so it must be maintained and even improved. Indonesia as a developing country with a lower middle-income economy is always in the race to improve economic growth to achieve the nation's welfare. One of the supporting factors is FDI. FDI during the period 1990-2020 has increased by 1.650%. This shows that Indonesia continues to try to attract foreign investors to invest in Indonesia to increase GDP. The purpose of this study is to determine the causal effect of GDP and FDI in Indonesia during the period 1990-2020, using Granger causality analysis, FPE causality, and ECM causality. The data is in the form of time series sourced from The World Bank. The results of the study found that FDI did not affect GDP because the value was too small and FDI was influenced by GDP, which indicates that foreign investors will invest their capital by paying attention to Indonesia's economic growth.
