Abstract

This research aims to determine the quality of soil in agriculture in Kebonagung village, Madiun Regency. The problem with this research is that plant development on the village's agricultural land is not fertile, possibly caused by inappropriate soil pH. The farmer group in the village does not yet have tools to measure soil pH quality so this problem has not been resolved. The method used in this research is the qualitative analysis method. The results of this research are a design for a digital soil pH measuring instrument based on Arduino Mega and a comparison of the results of soil pH measurements. The way the resulting measuring instrument works is that when the power supply enters the Arduino Mega, the GPS sensor tries to get the satellite network and takes a maximum of 5 minutes. After the GPS sensor has access to the satellite network, the sensor will read parameters in the form of voltage results and convert them into soil pH and humidity data. Then the parameter data will appear on the LCD screen. Next, the option appears, whether it can be saved on the SD Card or only displayed on the LCD screen. From the results of the soil pH sensor calibration test, the average value difference was 0.3 with an error of 5.7%.
