Abstract

Ornamental fish are one of the pets that are popular among people, both children and adults, to decorate their homes. There are several types of freshwater ornamental fish that are sensitive to water quality so they are easily stressed and even die. One important factor in maintaining ornamental fish so that they last a long life is maintaining water quality. Therefore, researchers have innovated to create a tool to control and monitor water quality so that it is always maintained. Several parameters that must be considered are water temperature, water pH, and water turbidity. This research requires several components such as a temperature sensor, pH sensor, turbidity sensor, ultrasonic sensor, water pump, Arduino, ESP32, 2 DC water pumps and others. The working system of this tool is Arduino as the main controller of all sensors to store data results and display them on the LCD display. The temperature sensor works for monitoring and when the water temperature exceeds the provisions, the buzzer will turn on, then the pH sensor monitors the acidity level of the water. The turbidity sensor is used to measure water turbidity and control the drain pump. If the data from the turbidity sensor exceeds a predetermined limit, it will turn on the drain pump. The ultrasonic sensor works automatically to turn off the drain pump when the water level passes the low limit, then automatically turns on the clean water filling pump until the water level reaches the high limit to replace the dirty water that has been wasted. All data from the sensor is transferred to the ESP32 to be sent via a WiFi connection and then received by the smartphone via the Blynk application.
