Abstract

Technology development has influenced teaching and learning activities (KBM) in school education. Test or exam activities are an obligation that must be carried out for both teachers and grade 3 students at SMP Negeri 19 Surakarta in English subjects. School exams that are carried out manually have provided several problems, such as cheating, wasting paper, and checking student answers that take a long time. This research aims to develop an online exam application for English class 3 at SMP Negeri 19 Surakarta. The development method for the online exam application is the Waterfall method which consists of the stages of needs analysis, system design, implementation, integration and testing, and the last is maintenance. The research results are in the form of an analysis of blackbox testing and System Usability Scale (SUS). In blackbox testing, the result obtained is that the online exam application system is valid to use, and in the SUS results, the value obtained from the average is 85 with the standardized reference for the assessment of the number included in the realm of good.
