Abstract

Expressive speech acts have the function of expressing an expression that the speaker wants to convey to the listeners. This article was written to find out expressive speech acts in the two sided TV One program "Hot Cold" Democracy Vs PDI Perjuangan which has the objective of describing the functions of expressive speech acts contained in the program two sides of tv one with the theme "hot and cold" Democratic VS PDI struggle. The research method includes the type of research used in this research is descriptive qualitative. This approach uses a qualitative analysis method that focuses on meaning, description, and data processing. The data used in this study are sentences containing expressive speech acts contained in the Two-Sided Tv One program "Hot Cold" Democracy Vs PDI Perjuangan. The source of the data used in this study is the Two Sides of Tv One program "Hot Cold" Democrats Vs PDI Perjuangan speaking on the Two Sides of Tv One program which aired on September 30 2022. Data collection techniques are the most important part in a research. using techniques appropriate data collection will produce a standard data analysis process. data collection techniques used in this research are documentation techniques, see, record, and literature. The data analysis technique in this study is using the equivalent method. Based on the conclusions of this study, the results of the study entitled Expressive Speech Actions on Two-Sided TvOne Edition "Hot Cold" Democracy VS PDI Perjuangan. Referring to Yule's theory, he describes the use of expressive speech act functions as (1) Thank you, (2) Respond, (3) Praise, (4) Turn on, (5) Criticize, (6) Complain. Each of these expressive speech acts has a different function according to the user
