Abstract

Many products have been produced by this binary option, one of which is the Binomo application. OJK's policy in creating coordination and supervision of the financial sector in the capital market has not been maximized, in the last nine years the presence of OJK has not been able to overcome violations in the capital market. The approach method used in this study is a normative approach. The results of the research show that Binary Option itself is not supervised by Coftra (Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency) or OJK (Financial Services Authority) which are institutions engaged in the economy. CoFTRA is an institution with supervisory and regulatory functions in the fields of commodities, foreign exchange and futures under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade. In Indonesia, there are no regulations governing Binary Options yet. If you look at “Article 1 of CoFTRA Regulation No. 3 of 2019 concerning Commodities, regulates Commodities that may become the subject of futures contracts and do not exist Binary Options in it”. Obstacles to the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in Executing Oversight Authority Over Binary Option Online Trading (BINOMO) and Efforts to Overcome It, namely the lack of public knowledge of the financial sector, especially knowledge about legal investments, and the condition of people who are greedy to get high returns by ignoring risks.
