Abstract
Entrepreneurship is a mindset, skillset and toolset to create the right solutions to increase the economic independence of a country. In Indonesia itself there is still a lack of entrepreneurs compared to other developed countries. The main factor influencing this is the decline in the desire to become an entrepreneur due to the younger generation not yet understanding the meaning of entrepreneurship, which is not just about profit and loss. This research aims to investigate students' understanding and ability to create new business models using the Business Model Canvas (BMC) method. The research method involves a survey of participants in the 2022 Independent Entrepreneurship program. The research results show that the Business Model Canvas (BMC) has a positive influence on the ability of students participating in the Independent Entrepreneurship program to create and implement new business models. The respondents felt they had benefited from the Business Model Canvas (BMC). With the Business Model Canvas (BMC), participants are helped on how to set up a business. This research provides an insight into how the Business Model Canvas (BMC) can help students participating in Independent Entrepreneurship to analyze markets, manage finances, analyze positive impacts and business sustainability.
