Abstract
Achieving achievements in the academic field and being punctual in completing lectures is the dream of every student. However, academic procrastination, namely delaying assignments, often becomes an obstacle that results in delays and failure in completing academic assignments. The aim of the research is to determine the relationship between Self Management and Self Compassion and Academic Procrastination. Apart from that, to find out the relationship between Self Management and Academic Procrastination, and the relationship between Self Compassion and Academic Procrastination in students. This research uses multiple correlational quantitative methods. The research population of active students at a private university in Surakarta for the 2019-2021 class is 881 students. Determining the sample in this research used a purposive sampling technique. The criteria are: 1) active student at one of the private universities in Surakarta. 2) Students from the 2019, 2020 and 2021 classes. 3) Students aged 20 – 23 years. The research sample obtained was 101 students and those who met the criteria were 90 students. Data was collected by filling in measuring instruments on the selfl-managementl lscale, self-compassion, andl the academicl lprocrastination slcale. Datal were lanalyzed lusing multiplel linearl regressionl analysis ltechniques. Thel researchl results lshow thatl the majolr hypothesisl isl proven, namelyl thatl therel is a significantl lrelationship between Selfl Managementl andl Self lCompassion land lAcademic Procrastination. lThe first minorl hypothesisl shows lthat therel is la significantl negativel relationship lbetween lself-management land lacademic lprocrastination. Thel secondl minor lhypothesis lshows thatl therel is a negativel relationship lbetween self-compassion and lacademic lprocrastination. Self management contributed 47.2% and Self Compassion contributed 1.7%, so the contribution was 48.9%. Meanwhile, thel remainingl l51.1%l isl influencedl byl other variables or factors outside this research, such as: time management, achievement motivation and coping behavior.
