Abstract
Most of Indonesia's population depends on agriculture. The agricultural sector is very important, because it fulfills most of human needs. Population growth and economic development in an area, the existence of toll roads as one of the land transportation infrastructures is increasingly needed by the community to overcome traffic jams and shorten travel distances. The conversion of agricultural land into toll road construction will indirectly affect the socio-economic conditions of residents whose livelihoods are farmers in Balerejo District. This study aims to (1) determine the distribution and area of agricultural land converted into the Kertosono-Ngawi toll road in Balerejo District. (2) to determine the impact of the conversion of agricultural land into the Kertosono-Ngawi toll road on changes in the socio-economic conditions of farmers in Balerejo District. Sampling used in this research is purposive sampling method. Data analysis method in this research uses descriptive data analysis method. The results showed that there were 5 villages that experienced agricultural land acquisition with a total converted agricultural area of 38.84 ha. The people of the Balerejo sub-district who live around the toll road experience difficulties in accessing other places, so several points in the Balerejo sub-district were made a People's Crossing Bridge (JPO) and flyovers. The average income of respondents in this study increased by 6.3% for farmers from the previous IDR 1,514,167 to IDR 1,610,000.
