Abstract

Many people do not sufficiently understand the impact of bullying which can hinder social development, feel inferior, feel unappreciated, lack focus, appear to be daydreaming during learning, have trauma and bruises on the body (victims of physical bullying), and have a timid and insecure personality. This study aims to examine the relationship between perceived school climate and self-control with the tendency for bullying behavior. The method used is quantitative, using a bullying scale, school climate scale and self-control scale. There were 310 subjects from SMA X Surakarta, selected using purposive sampling techniques. The results of the multiple linear regression analysis test in this study show that the tendency for bullying behavior has a very significant negative relationship with perceptions of school climate and self-control with an influence of 17.8%. Perception of school climate and self-control have a less significant influence on the level of bullying behavior tendencies. This research was grouped based on gender but no significant differences were found in each variable. However, in class and major groupings, it was found that classes had the highest and lowest tendencies for bullying behavior Keywords: bullying, school climate, self-control
