Abstract

This research was conducted because many students are interested in the talent of badminton in mastering the basic techniques of playing badminton, especially the backhand drop. Therefore, this study aims to determine whether there is an effect of drilling backhand exercises on the accuracy of badminton backhand drop in students with an interest in badminton sports talent at the University of Muhammadiyah Surakarta. This study used an experimental method using a pre-test & post-test. The sample in this study amounted to 25 people who were taken using the purposive sampling method or the objective sample. Based on the results of statistical tests using the Shapiro Wilk test, a significant value of 0.000 <0.5 was obtained, meaning that there was a significant effect, whereas, when viewed from the average pretest of 6.36 and the average post-test of 15.00, it experienced an increase of 8.64.
